The Atlas Pouf 2 is designed by Pietro Franceschini, the Italian architect behind PF|Studio, whose “neotenic design” philosophy strips forms down to a pure, almost childlike geometry. Each piece is realized through an uncompromising material chain — marble quarried and carved in Carrara, metalwork cast and finished in Florence, upholstery crafted in Milan.
This Atlas pouf, from the Olympus Collection, stands on cast brass legs and is upholstered in Dedar’s Artemidor fabric in the gentle agnello colourway. Its sculptural, ball-like form carries a touch of playfulness, the plush texture of the seat set in deliberate contrast with the cool cast metal legs that anchor it to the ground.
Pietro Franceschini is an architect and designer based in New York and Florence, with an international curriculum, attending schools in Italy, Portugal, and the United States. Following his B.Arch cum laude from Università degli Studi in Florence and his M.S.Arch with 1st class honour from Pratt Institute, he started collaborating with several renowned firms, including Leeser Architecture in Brooklyn, Claudio Nardi in Florence, Laisné Roussel in Paris, and Carlo Ratti Associati in New York.
