The Gamma Stool is designed by Pietro Franceschini, the Italian architect behind PF|Studio, whose “neotenic design” philosophy strips forms down to a pure, almost childlike geometry. Each piece is realized through an uncompromising material chain — marble quarried and carved in Carrara, metalwork cast and finished in Florence, upholstery crafted in Milan.
This Gamma stool is carved from Nero Marquina marble in a matte finish, one of a set of two also available in Calacatta Delicata or Port Laurent marble, matte or glossy. Crafted in Carrara, roughly eighty percent of the stool’s form is shaped by robot before an artisan hand-finishes the surface, letting the deep veining of each stone read as a one-of-a-kind signature.
Pietro Franceschini is an architect and designer based in New York and Florence, with an international curriculum, attending schools in Italy, Portugal, and the United States. Following his B.Arch cum laude from Università degli Studi in Florence and his M.S.Arch with 1st class honour from Pratt Institute, he started collaborating with several renowned firms, including Leeser Architecture in Brooklyn, Claudio Nardi in Florence, Laisné Roussel in Paris, and Carlo Ratti Associati in New York.
