The pot’s silhouette is pure Jean Puiforcat: a body worked from sterling silver into clean, architectural volumes, with every curve resolved rather than decorated. This was the revolution Puiforcat brought to French silversmithing in the 1930s — stripping away the ornamental language of earlier hollowware in favour of geometry, proportion and function, an approach that placed the house alongside the great Art Deco designers of its day. Sterling silver is raised and planished by hand, a slow discipline that leaves the metal without seams and gives it its particular density and cool weight. The handle, in Amazonian rosewood, interrupts the silver with warmth and grain, insulating the hand while sharpening the contrast between polished metal and natural material. Suited to a breakfast table or a sideboard set for coffee service, it belongs among pieces meant to be used, not displayed. Engraving is available, placed discreetly on the underside.
