In the rolling countryside of Burgundy, the Manufacture de Tapis de Bourgogne has spent over six decades perfecting the art of the handmade rug, from ancestral hand-knotting to the hand-tufting technique it pioneered in the 1970s. Labelled a Living Heritage Company for its craftsmanship, the manufacture translates the visions of contemporary designers into wool, silk and natural fibre, each carpet carried through the hands of artisans who count every knot and tuft by feel.
Tribune Libre — ‘open forum’ — takes its name from the free, editorial confidence Pierre Yovanovitch brings from fashion, where he trained under Pierre Cardin and Torrente, into interior architecture. Hand-tufted for the Manufacture de Tapis de Bourgogne with a wool ground and silk pattern, or alternatively in wool and berber wool with a raffia motif, the rug’s graphic composition has the same sculptural confidence and tonal restraint that define Yovanovitch’s furniture and his own Château de Fabrègues.
