The Daiku Console L is designed by Victoria Magniant, who works hand in hand with French ateliers to translate noble materials, wood, glass, brass, into pieces that read as much like sculpture as furniture. She draws on the pared-back forms of Isamu Noguchi and Barbara Hepworth, choosing slowness and craft over speed.

At its largest size and pictured here in walnut, with natural oak and ash also on offer, the Daiku Console L is the collection’s most commanding surface, its watercolour-layered stain deepened across a longer run of solid wood. As with every Daiku piece, the timber will continue to move naturally over time, small cracks and shifts in grain that the studio reads as signs of an authentic, living material.

This creation is crafted from solid wood, a natural material that naturally expands, contracts and cracks with temperature and humidity changes. Variations in grain, colour, and texture are inherent and natural. These natural changes are a sign of authenticity, and part of what makes each piece unique.
