Victoria Magniant designed the Daiku Console S from her Paris studio, where she pairs French cabinetmakers and glassblowers with an eye trained on sculptors like Noguchi and Hepworth. For Magniant, choosing a material is also a way of defending a culture, a skill and an ethic of craftsmanship.
Shown in an ash tinted to a deep Napoleon black III, with natural oak and walnut also available, and in medium and large sizes besides this small one, the Daiku Console S compresses the collection’s calligraphic staining into its most compact form, its dark tone letting the ash’s natural grain read almost like ink on paper.
Victoria Magniant, is a multidisciplinary designer based in Paris. Her approach is marked by a refined and poetic aesthetic, which reveals the intrinsic beauty of the material. Inspired by Brancusi, Noguchi and Sanaa, she nurtures a subtle dialogue between cultures and eras. Her work is introspective, functional, and deeply sculptural.
