Atelier Février was born from the shared passion of French designer Florian Pretet and Nepali entrepreneur Lisa Mukhia Pretet, partners in life as in craft. Florian, who once designed cashmere and silk for the workshops of Hermès, draws every pattern by hand before it is scaled up and hand-knotted in Nepal by a workforce of more than fifty artisans, using techniques passed down through generations and no machines or chemicals whatsoever.

The Ceramic Rug Round Navy joins Atelier Février’s rug library, here in a round format with a navy palette. Evocative of one of the most ancient Greek ceramics, the François Vase, discovered in pieces and patiently put back together so it could tell its story again, Ceramic mirrors, in its irregularity and its ostensibly mended areas, resonant with the Japanese practice of kintsugi, the beauty found in a raw, vulnerable state. Hand-knotted in Nepal from 90% Himalayan wool and 10% silk, at 100 knots per square inch, the wool anchoring the pile while the silk catches the light along the pattern’s finer lines. Every Ceramic Rug Round Navy is made to order over some twelve to sixteen weeks by a combined workforce of more than fifty artisans, and, true to Atelier Février’s spirit, can be resized, reshaped or recoloured entirely to your own specification.

Each rug is handcrafted by skilled artisans who master ancestral techniques such as hand knotting, weaving, and tufting. Due to its handmade nature, there may be slight variations in size and colour, and the patterns may adjust proportionally when the rug is scaled to different sizes. Colours are subject to sample approval and colours shown may vary with lighting and environment.
