Atelier Février was born from the shared passion of French designer Florian Pretet and Nepali entrepreneur Lisa Mukhia Pretet, partners in life as in craft. Florian, who once designed cashmere and silk for the workshops of Hermès, draws every pattern by hand before it is scaled up and hand-knotted in Nepal by a workforce of more than fifty artisans, using techniques passed down through generations and no machines or chemicals whatsoever.

The En Suspend Rug joins Atelier Février’s rug library. Part of the collection L’Ombre, En Suspend takes a different perspective on shadows, drawing its inspiration from a child’s mobile turning slowly overhead and the wonder it inspires. Hand-knotted in Nepal from 90% Himalayan wool and 10% silk, at 125 knots per square inch, the wool anchoring the pile while the silk catches the light along the pattern’s finer lines. Because the En Suspend Rug is entirely made by hand, expect gentle variations from one piece to the next, proof rather than flaw of a rug that around fifty pairs of hands take months to knot, and one you can still resize or recolour to order.

Each rug is handcrafted by skilled artisans who master ancestral techniques such as hand knotting, weaving, and tufting. Due to its handmade nature, there may be slight variations in size and colour, and the patterns may adjust proportionally when the rug is scaled to different sizes. Colours are subject to sample approval and colours shown may vary with lighting and environment.
