Long before ‘craft’ became a marketing word, De La Espada was quietly building furniture the hard way. Founded by Fátima de la Espada and Luís de Oliveira, the company grew out of a small family carpentry business in Spain into one of the most respected names in contemporary solid-wood furniture, collaborating over the years with Luca Nichetto, Neri & Hu, Jason Miller and Matthew Hilton. Every piece is still made at their own production facility on Portugal’s Silver Coast, in walnut, oak or ash, oiled and finished by hand.

Designed with Anthony Guerrée, the brass version of the Izar dining table is pictured in black oiled walnut with a brushed brass detail running through the base, also available in ash or oak. The brass inlay is worked into the structure rather than applied as trim, so it reads as integral to the table’s construction rather than decorative.
