Nada Debs

Summerland Folding Screen

Add to Wishlist

Nada Debs grew up in Kobe, Japan, before returning to her family’s native Beirut to build a studio around a single question: what happens when Japanese minimalism meets Arab craft? Her answer, which she calls “Contemporary Arabesque,” runs through the Summerland folding screen, its light ashwood frame woven with natural straw in a pattern that reads as geometric from a distance and handwoven up close.

The screen’s warm, pale tones and quiet rhythm of woven panels make it as much a piece of craft as a functional divider for a room.
