Founded by Guillaume Galloy and Bruce Ribay, Noma Editions takes its name from ‘NOble MAterials’, reworking recycled steel, reclaimed wood and repurposed plastics into furniture worthy of the finest ateliers, without ever hiding where the material came from.
The Sen chair, designed by A+A Cooren for Noma Editions, is built on a single poetic image: a metal wire stretched like a tree branch, on which a wooden leaf comes to rest. That branch is a frame of recycled steel wire, and the leaf is a shell of oak-veneered plywood or recycled plastic, stacked easily for storage.
Pictured here with an oak backrest and seat, Sen pairs the warmth of natural veneer with an industrial, recycled steel structure, proof that comfort and posture were considered as carefully as sustainability. Great attention was paid to the curve of the shell, ensuring the chair holds the body as gently as its origin story suggests.
