In the rolling countryside of Burgundy, the Manufacture de Tapis de Bourgogne has spent over six decades perfecting the art of the handmade rug, from ancestral hand-knotting to the hand-tufting technique it pioneered in the 1970s. Labelled a Living Heritage Company for its craftsmanship, the manufacture translates the visions of contemporary designers into wool, silk and natural fibre, each carpet carried through the hands of artisans who count every knot and tuft by feel.

Rendered in black and white, the Caldeira Rug strips Elsa Barbillon’s volcanic motif down to pure graphic contrast, the concentric rings of the collapsed crater reading almost like a topographic survey line. Hand-knotted and hand-tufted in wool and silk for the Manufacture de Tapis de Bourgogne, this colourway sharpens the cartographic idea at the heart of the Dreams collection, turning a geological memory into a bold, architectural statement rather than a soft one.

Each rug is handcrafted by skilled artisans who master ancestral techniques such as hand knotting, weaving, and tufting. Due to its handmade nature, there may be slight variations in size and colour, and the patterns may adjust proportionally when the rug is scaled to different sizes.
