Lesage Intérieurs is the interiors offshoot of the storied Lesage embroidery house, founded in Paris in 1858 and celebrated as the couture atelier behind Chanel’s Métiers d’Art collections. The maison carries its needle beyond fashion into the home, treating embroidery not as decoration applied after the fact but as an architecture of thread built into the very structure of an object.
The Comporta Cushion by Lesage Intérieurs is embroidered in natural brown raffia, wooden beads and hand-worked beading, its chain and katta stitches recalling sunlight filtering through woven screens in the heart of summer. Named for the Portuguese coastal village, the piece carries the same fragile, luminous quality as light through basketry.
For 30 years, Lesage Intérieurs has imagined, invented, designed and embroidered by hand, interior projects meant for the historical, classical or contemporary world of decorative arts.
