Kubo Curated

Banig Weave Cushion Cover

Add to Wishlist

The banig is the handwoven mat of the Philippines. It is plaited from pandan, buri palm or sea grass and was once found in almost every home, rolled out at night for sleeping. This cover takes its name from that everyday craft. Kubo Curated, itself named after the bahay kubo, the traditional Filipino house built entirely from organic materials, makes it in T’nalak, the abaca cloth the women of the T’boli people weave at Lake Sebu and hold as sacred. Kept to a single tone of light sand, the cover lets texture carry the design, bringing a quiet, tactile note to a bedroom or reading chair.
