Beadwork sits alongside weaving at the heart of T’boli dress, worn as necklaces, belts and headdresses by the people of Lake Sebu in southern Mindanao. On this cover, beading traces a pattern of leaves across T’nalak, the abaca cloth woven by T’boli women and regarded as sacred. The light sand ground keeps attention on the relief of the beads, which catch the light as the cushion is moved. Like the rest of Kubo Curated’s beaded covers, it adds a decorative note to a sofa or bed and suits interiors built on natural materials and restrained colour.
