Studioparisien is the Paris practice of Laurène B. Tardrew and Romain Jourdan, who built their reputation staging the retail worlds of Cartier, Hermès and Karl Lagerfeld before turning that scenographic eye toward furniture and lighting.

The Coqui Coffee Table brings a guest hand into Studioparisien’s world: its patina decor was created by Martin Berger, whose painterly surface treatment sits atop a Yellow Gauguin wood base finished to an ultra-gloss shine. The collaboration lets the studio’s architectural discipline meet an artisan’s freer, more painterly touch on a single tabletop.

The patina reads differently depending on the angle and the light, closer to a worked canvas than a conventional wood finish, while the glossy Yellow Gauguin base grounds that painterly surface in something solid and warm. It is one of the few pieces in the collection built explicitly around another maker’s hand.
