Karen Chekerdjian is a Lebanese-Armenian designer based in Beirut.
The Inside Out Bianco Arabescato Bowl by Karen Chekerdjian brings her essential shapes and classical lines into the lightest register of the Inside Out system. Trained in Milan under Massimo Morozzi and seasoned at EDRA before founding her own studio in Beirut, Chekerdjian designed a fruit basket that transforms a table into a convivial place, its pale stone reading as sculpture as easily as furnishing accessory.
Carved from Bianco Arabescato, the Carrara marble famed for its soft grey veins tracing arabesques across a white ground, the bowl is produced with Mmairo, the atelier that has controlled extraction through manufacture in-house since 2016. As an interchangeable top for the Inside Out Table, its luminous surface makes each vein pattern unrepeatable, a quiet contrast to the darker stones elsewhere in the collection.
MMairo designs and creates high quality marble objects in Carrara, the world’s marble capital, where they were established in 2016. The products are made using the highest quality marbles, hand finished by skilled local artisans and with a high market positioning.
