Osanna Visconti

Dalia Salt and Pepper Cellar

Add to Wishlist

Two real dahlias are the starting point for this pair of cellars, each cast in natural bronze at Osanna Visconti’s trusted art foundry in Milan. Through the lost-wax technique, the folds of each bloom are recorded in metal, and because every casting begins with a different flower, the two are never quite identical. Hand chiselling and polishing then bring out the depth of the petals. Set into each flower is a small bowl of amber Murano glass, and the pair is completed by two miniature spoons in bronze plated with rose gold, their pinker tone sitting softly against the natural bronze. Visconti came to bronze through jewellery, training in Rome and at the Gemological Institute of America in New York, and that attention to small, precious detail runs through the whole set. On a laid table, it completes the Dalia pieces alongside the candleholders and bowl.
