Trapani brings a cook’s understanding of how objects meet food to his marble designs for Mmairo, the Carrara marble house that controls extraction through manufacture entirely in-house.
The Memory Bowl Rosso Levanto reprises the same ancestral idea Cristoforo Trapani, the Michelin-starred chef of La Magnolia in Forte dei Marmi, brought to Mmairo, a bowl conceived as a symbol of the vital relationship between people and food. Where the original edition speaks in near-black stone, this version lets a warmer, richly patterned marble carry the same ritual weight to the table.
Carved from Rosso Levanto marble with a smooth finish, the bowl’s deep red tone, threaded with pale veining, makes it as striking a centerpiece as it is a serving vessel, equally suited to soups, fruit salads or dried fruit. Produced entirely within Mmairo’s Carrara workshops, from extraction to final polish, each Rosso Levanto bowl carries the singular veining of its block, so no two pieces read quite the same.
MMairo designs and creates high quality marble objects in Carrara, the world’s marble capital, where they were established in 2016. The products are made using the highest quality marbles, hand finished by skilled local artisans and with a high market positioning.
