What is your summer refuge?
I discovered Menorca a few years ago and fell in love with the island. This blend of ease, artistic discovery, calm, and meaningful encounters is, for me, perfect.
Do you return every year, or do you prefer to seek out new horizons?
With a busy schedule, I always like the idea of returning to something familiar, where you can relax without the pressure of having to do or see everything. I enjoy going back every year, even just for a few days, simply to breathe the air there. And of course, I also like discovering other destinations.
Which address would you almost hesitate to share?
La Cabane du Feneau in La Couarde-sur-Mer, on Île de Ré: a tiny seafood restaurant in the middle of the marshes. A delight.
What is your most unapologetic summer indulgence?
A very good restaurant every evening.
What is the most beautiful hotel you’ve ever stayed in?
Château Voltaire in Paris: refined, simple, and very elegant design, and above all, exceptional service.
Which house would you dream of living in for the month of August?
Casa Malaparte in Capri: a sublime example of Italian architecture designed in 1937, with a restrained elegance where everything makes sense—from the layout to the furniture.
Which architect, interior designer, or artist would you most like to have as your host?
An intimate dinner with René Herbst, Jean-Michel Frank, Andrée Putman, Philippe Starck, or Mattia Bonetti, all of whom have inspired me in one way or another.
What is the most beautiful object you’ve brought back from a trip?
My apartment is filled with decorative and everyday objects collected during travels, but I am particularly attached to a sculpture by Timothée Humbert, purchased last summer in his studio in Bonnieux.
What book would you recommend this summer?
I feel like returning to the classics. I enjoy revisiting books I read years ago, and I think I will reread In Search of Lost Time by Proust.
Which restaurant would you happily plan an entire trip around?
Years ago, I wanted to finally discover Relais Bernard Loiseau, so we organized an entire holiday in Burgundy around it. The region is so beautiful and preserved that driving through its country roads is a pleasure in itself.
In which room would you dream of spending a night?
La Colombe d’Or. The place is magical. I’ve only been there for lunch, but I would love to spend a few days there.
What landscape would you like to wake up to every morning for the rest of your life?
A sea view, without question.
What makes a holiday home unforgettable?
Large shared tables with family and close friends, where you can gather without artifice.
Which encounter changed the course of a journey?
A gallerist in Granada who opened doors to nearly hidden places. Unforgettable.
Finally, what is your most precious summer memory?
That feeling of freedom you experience as a child during the holidays.
