Dartagnan Chair Ebano

Add to Wishlist

David Haymann founded his Paris house on the belief that furniture deserved the same editorial rigor as a publishing house. Rather than design collections himself, he invites architects and designers — from Toni Grilo to Charles Kalpakian, from David & Nicolas to Dan Yeffet and Lucie Koldová — to give shape to his vision of simple, coherent forms built from noble materials.

As a dining chair, the Dartagnan design shows its precision at its most functional, this version finished in a deep Ebano stain on solid ash, with the same swing-shaped leather saddle seat Toni Grilo built across the collection. Set around a table, the near-black frame lets the chairs read as a considered rhythm rather than a repeated object, each one as thin and exact as the blade of the musketeer it is named for.
