Ivan Colominas is a Spanish industrial designer whose work has earned six Red Dot Awards, a track record that led the Carrara marble house Mmairo, which controls extraction through manufacture entirely in-house, to entrust him with several of its signature collections.

The Altana Medium Table brings Ivan Colominas’s turret-terrace concept for Mmairo down to a more intimate scale, keeping the same unbroken, round silhouette inspired by the rooftop terraces of Renaissance architecture. Like its larger sibling, it accepts no fixed front or back, its continuous curve suggesting a table designed to be walked around and viewed from every angle rather than approached from one side alone.

Pictured here in travertine, the Altana Medium Table is also available in black marble and in rosso marble, produced to bespoke dimensions and finishes within Mmairo’s in-house Carrara production. The travertine’s naturally porous, warm-toned surface gives this scale of Altana a softer read than the deeper black marble option, while still holding the same sculptural, base-and-terrace structure Colominas designed.
