Piatto Piano #1 Plate

For Mmairo, Ivan Colominas designs across scales, from tabletop objects to full furniture pieces, consistently returning to a belief that marble should feel sculptural yet entirely useful, never merely decorative.

Piatto Piano #1, designed by Ivan Colominas for Mmairo, is sculptural, bright white and precisely defined, the largest piece in a table service Colominas built around Angelo Mangiarotti’s soft, multi-fold lines. Rather than simply setting a table, the plate is meant to exalt the shape and structure of the objects we use to explore one of life’s greatest pleasures, food, treating dinnerware as a genuine design discipline in its own right.

Available in Bianco Michelangelo, Bianco Carrara or Nero Marquinia marble with a smooth finish, Piatto Piano #1 lets its multi-fold silhouette catch light differently depending on the stone chosen, from the crisp white of Carrara to the deep, near-black density of Marquinia. Produced within Mmairo’s fully in-house Carrara operation, from quarry to final polish, the plate’s structural folds remain crisp and consistent across every material option.
