Mmairo is a marble atelier based in Carrara, its name drawn from the ancient Greek marmairo, meaning ‘to shine.’
Who says a bowl has to be straight and still? With the Gae Bowl, Arthur Arbesser overturns that expectation for Mmairo, the Carrara marble atelier whose name derives from the ancient Greek marmairo, meaning to shine, challenging conventional tableware in a constant search for an unlikely, off-kilter balance. Named in tribute to the bold, architectural spirit associated with the name Gae, the bowl tilts and curves where a traditional vessel would simply sit flat.
Offered in a small size in Verde Guatemala or a larger version in Arabescato Vagli Filo Rosso, alongside Nero Marquinia, Bianco Michelangelo and Rosso Levanto marble options, the Gae Bowl lets its material dictate mood as much as its sculptural, asymmetric form does. Bespoke dimensions and finishes remain available on request, with every bowl carved and finished entirely within Mmairo’s own Tuscan ateliers.
