Studio Floris Wubben approaches ceramics like an engineer solving a problem: by building a machine that has never existed. The Wonky Forty Side Table emerges from this workshop culture, where custom extrusion presses coax stoneware and resin into forms no mould could produce, each one bearing the trace of its own making.

Part of the Wonky series, this side table let the extruded stoneware move more freely than in earlier, more tightly guided works, so the clay wanders and leans rather than following a fixed path. Originally glazed in a pale sea-foam tone no longer produced, the Forty is the smallest of the three Wonky tables, its restless, off-kilter stance still unmistakably shaped by Wubben’s hand-built extrusion machines.
